SYPC holds the Bible to be God’s word, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. We hold to a reformed understanding of the Christian faith as summarised in our standards of doctrine known as the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Our beliefs can be summed up under two headings:
- The Supreme Standard or authority is the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, also known as the Bible.
- The Subordinate Standard or authority is the Westminster Confession of Faith which we hold to be an accurate, comprehensive and consistent summary of the teaching of the Bible.
SYPC, then, is intentionally biblical, confessional, Presbyterian and Reformed.
