God’s purpose throughout all of time has been to redeem for Himself a people that are His very own. – Alistair Begg

Sundays at SYPC

10.30am & 5.30pm – Worship

If you are new to church, we hope that our worship services at SYPC will be a safe place for you to explore the historic Christian faith, not from a distance, but from the inside.

Though worship is an all of life reality for all Christians, and something we are to do more formally in private and as a family, we also recognise that God calls His people to gather together on a weekly basis to worship Him together.

SYPC gathers together to worship God each Sunday of the year at 10.30am & 5.30pm.

Worship is the Spirit-led response to God’s sovereign grace and is the highest and grandest calling of Christians. At SYPC we passionately seek to offer God the praise, honour, and worship due His holy name. Through prayer, song (Psalms, traditional and modern), reading and preaching of the Bible and participation in the sacraments, we intentionally celebrate our union with the living Christ who reigns in glory and in our hearts.

We believe, at its best, worship is word-regulated, God-centred, Spirit-filled, Christ-mediated, and joyfully reverent.

The sacrament of Baptism occurs as called for (we hold to covenant baptism which includes adults who come into the Covenant of grace through faith in Jesus Christ and also the children of covenant members).

The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated Supper on a monthly basis in the morning and quarterly in the evening.

A marked feature of worship services at SYPC is that our children are with us for the whole time. We also believe that worship is a covenant family activity, that the whole family so far as is possible should be in the worship service together. So we do not have any separate children’s church, and we hold Sunday school before Church. We do have a room fitted with audio where parents can temporarily retreat with a distressed or otherwise needy child and yet remain part of the service.

Our worship services are designed to both build up those who believe and to challenge and help those who doubt or seek.

Whatever your spiritual journey – or none – be assured of a very warm welcome in joining with us for worship of the true and living God.

Sunday School & Prayer

SYPC runs a Sunday School at 9.30am during the school year. The curriculum for Ages… focuses on selected Bible Stories communicating the Gospel and great themes of the Christian faith and life. Ages … work their way through the Shorter Catechism, interspersed with the study of books of the Bible and Classes on church History.

At the same time Parents may enjoy a time of fellowship together over a cuppa or enter into the church and engage in a time of prayer.
